 The NORTH WEST R/C SHIP MODELERS was formed in 1981 to provide a support organization for R/C boat and ship Modelers in the Seattle Washington area. At present we have about 100 members and are one of the largest clubs of this type on the West Coast. There is no typical type of scale vessel owned by the members. Models include but are not limited to, commercial ships, warships, tug boats, submarines, work and fishing boats, pleasure craft and sailboats. All of our boats are either steam, sail or electric powered, we do not operate gas powered boats. Some of our members enjoy racing fast electric boats. Our club provides a relaxed atmosphere, free from excessive organization and rules. We meet the first Thursday of each month at Galaxy Hobby in Lynnwood Washington at 196th and Hwy. 99. We also have a meeting in Mount Vernon Washington on the first Tuesday of the month. On the following Sunday a monthly "Fun Float" is held. Dues are a modest $25.00 which includes a name badge. Each member receives a monthly newsletter.     |
